Yeah. The Energy was huge. For the first 30 minutes I was practically sick to my stomach watching the race and not being in the race.

But then...I got behind the guys I like and respect and the efforts they were putting out...and didn't envy their pain as the groups ebbed and flowed...mostly flowing and ebbing backwards. Such is CX at the big show and in the deepest grass on the planet. There was hardly a track left in the field after the race.

It was good racing and the front group was huge due to the nature of the course (wide open) and the group dynamics (tactical and slightly negative). Its satisfying to see Ryan pull off the win again - if you're going to win one 'cross race, you might as well do it here....well, or the national championships...or, well, the world championships. So, OK, its in the top 3, for domestic racers, in terms of the impact a win would leave.
