Damn, that IS pro. I've done the same thing but I had to stand on my scale holding my bag and then subtract my weight until I got it right. Standing awkwardly on a scale and having your wife call out the numbers while you do math is NOT pro.
PRO trick: use the foot to prop that beeatch up off the scale ever so slightly. It's a full on Jedi maneuver. I've never come in over 50 lbs...even with a double wide carrying 2 'cross bikes. I say this even with a bitter distaste for cheaters. I just can't stand the airline industry.

I suck. Mine was 70.5 lbs. That was the bike and enough gear for a 2 week road trip. And United stuck it to me.
