sunday bike practice
I knew the bubble would burst. A number was pinned on my thermal vest and I did some bike racing practice on Sunday.
Nothing to write home about, but its nice to clip in from the driveway, ride the hills to a local circuit made of gravel, dirt, mud, and Portland International Speedway, chat with a few new names, then ride the hills home while the skies pummeled me with snow pellets.
This guy crushed me in the sprint. And he did it while not wearing gloves...with temps in the mid-30's. That's a bold move.
The inlaws are coming coming this week...time to showcase the city. You'd think winter in PDX wouldn't be the best time to impress or coherce newbies into moving, but these are hardy MLSP'ers. If you haven't seen Blue Planet, you should. Netflix it on your 60" HDTV...you know, how the pro cyclist in Durango do it.
Weak blog, but its a Monday and I'm not going to talk about Bill and Obama, what did you expect?

dammit sager! i'm trying to wait until february to race again. i know you're just mucking about, but let's be civilized. oregon's racing calendar is already too front-loaded without encouraging more january racing.
I just needed to pay for and pick up my OBRA license...
