monday's child
Take this:
versus this:
How can I take any mountain bike race seriously knowing the delta between "pro" mtb racing and "pro" road racing? If I had a team bus I'd compare that scene to this one...which would be "like" a mtb race except there are girls around, and I see a TV camera, which is very unmountain bike race like.
Which again the Slipstream team area is by no means a comparison to the energy and enthusiasm Jens Voigt receives (and gives) after 4hrs (and on the 5th day ) of racing. Discovery, doing their best version of a team training camp all week, was so tired that some of the guys couldn't even exit the bus. The poor CSC guys probably spent as much time entertaining fans as you spend on the bike each day. That's earning your paycheck, dawg.
We get this...
They get this...
It just puts things into perspective, which I like. Make sure to focus on what you're doing and why you're doing it. That being said, there are probably a handful of people who hate me for getting my practice on in Fontana Saturday....maybe that's what the guy on the line meant when he said "aren't you banned?".
FreeSager, dude.

Thoughs like that just lead to DNFs. Or worse, switching to road racing.
I'm already there.
damn, sager raged in Fontucky and I missed it... damn! I was out at Balcom Canyon on Sat. for the last KOM with my Free Sager wrist bands in full affect.
Even had a few people ask "Who's Sager?" to which I had to reply - "If you don't know You're not ready..."
You get the FreeSager from Solitude I sent?
I have a couple "free sager" pics from the first collegiate race this weekend. Send me your email so I can send them over. Thanks

I figured if I said something rude, I might make your blog. I was glad you were at Southridge because when people asked me how I did, all I had to say was, "Sager showed up," and that was my excuse for not finishing higher. And then there were the other ten or so guys that waxed me, but that's beside the point. I wanted to ask you for a wrist band on the pavement climb, but w/a HR of 200 all I could do was cry.
